My Shure SE420s are broken...AGAIN.

SE420 left earpiece, broken, with stem still in it.

SE420 left earphone, with stem snapped off at bud base.

My Shure SE420 headphones took a dump this morning. Again.

For the second time since I bought them last July, one of the ear stems has snapped off where it joins the bud, leaving me with one half of a pair of headphones.

Last time, Shure was great, aside from the whole sending me the wrong pair of headphones incident. But they corrected that and sent me a whole new pair for free of charge, including a new set of accessories. It was very good customer service overall.

With that said though, it’s a bit frustrating to have such expensive headphones break so consistently. I am very, very delicate with my electronics, my iPods and cell phone still look just like the day I bought them. All I was doing was inserting these into my ears, and the stem snapped off. No, my ears aren’t freaking venus flytrap-like things that put inordinate amounts of pressure on the headphones either.

So now, I have to get these out into the mail and wait a week to see what Shure says and if they’re going to cover them under the warranty again, or if I have to pay for repairs.
